church as early as 5 am in order to arrive
at least before noon in Pacuan, La
Libertad.

Nurses from the
Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital have also rendered their medical voluntary
works, among them were: Vretchy Tuballa, April Love Dumalagan, Rachiel Marie
Calumba, Kristen Sarabia, Carmela Visperas and many others. There were 19
volunteer doctors and 31 nurses from the cities of Bacolod and Dumaguete.
“The
activity was in line with the CMAG-Negros activities with the theme, Peace and
Development for God’s People – Our Mission. For we are partners working
together for God.” Cunanan said the humanitarian mission in Brgy Pacuan, La
Libertad, is a good example ofbayanihan’, with not only the church, army and the police,
but also various sectors of society like the local governments, non-government
organizations, students, youth, doctors, nurses, dentists, other health
workers, social workers, media, other professionals, environmentalists, and the
populace working hand-in-hand to bring support and assistance, to help ease the
trauma and burdens of the quake victims.
